In a practice that has spanned more than 40 years, David T. Lopez has established a record of proficient representation in court, appellate argument and avoidance and resolution of disputes, both as an advocate and as a mediator and arbitrator in domestic and international matters. Having established and directed a firm of more than a dozen lawyers, he now has elected to render services as a sole practitioner, thus assuring direct and personalized service for each matter in which he is retained. Inquiries about representation can be made by telephone. Details of the matter are taken in strict confidence, without obligation. Full information on fees is provided, and appointments made with the expediency appropriate to the situation.
Lopez established the firm immediately upon his graduation from South Texas College of Law. He began as a sole practitioner and through the years built up the firm to have 13 associates, with offices in Houston, Harlingen, and Austin. The Harlingen and Austin offices have been discontinued, and Lopez is back to being a sole practitioner.
Lopez has tried some 400 jury and non-jury cases in the state and federal courts of Texas, and has practiced by permission in the district and appellate courts of Louisiana, New Mexico, California, Washington State, and the District of Columbia. In addition to his litigation practice, Lopez serves as consultant regarding international matters and increasingly is involved in domestic and international mediation and arbitration.
